To get rid of the paper and pen, I built myself Notare, a small notepad program for taking simple short notes quickly on my Windows Phone 7.

With Notare there is nothing to decide, no files to find, no colors to pick, no time to wait.  Notare opens only one page listing all the saved Notare with all the controls on the top of the page. Add a Notare and type a note. Tap a Notare on the page and view the entire note.  Edit the Notare, copy and paste, send a Notare email or sms or delete the Notare and it is gone, done and finished. *

Notare gives you a choice of 3 font styles and 3 font sizes. Notare also lets you choose the default or the auto complete keyboard.

I don’t have to carry pen and paper with my phone anymore, I have Notare, a notepad that’s simple with clean lines and to the point, it’s a short note.

*A deleted Notare cannot be restored, so remember to save any important information either by email, sms or copy and paste to another program. As long as the Notare file is listed on the page, the file will always be available unless the phone operating system is reset, erasing all the phone memory. Windows Phone must be enabled for email or sms messages to send.

There was a time when we would take notes on scraps of paper, write numbers on our hand or try to remember something for 20 minutes and then toss, wash and forget it.

DLog opens a new log page each day. The page can be added to and edited all day. The previous day's log page is moved to the DLog archive. The archive page can be edited. For permanent storage, the current archive can be e-mailed (weekly, monthly or other time period) and then the archive file on the phone cleared* to begin a new archive period. DLog can be password protected if needed.

*A deleted Dlog Archive file cannot be restored, so remember to save any important information either by email or by copying and pasting to another program. As long as the Dlog Archive file is on the phone, the file will always be available
unless the phone’s operating system is reset, erasing all the phone memory. Windows Phone must be enabled for email messages to send.

Now we have smart phones and I found that I could not just jot down something quick. After waiting for the app to start, needing a title, picking a color and wondering “Should I save this note in the Cloud?” I started carrying paper and a pen with my phone just to scribble a quick note like ‘Where did I park’, ‘What was that number’, ‘What’s my schedule next week’, ‘What’s that guy’s name’ or ‘When’s dinner’?

I needed a way to document events at work on a daily basis

weekly and then send the saved log file to the main office to be filed. I could not find a simple, logical program that would work on my phone. So I made Dlog for Windows Phone, a simple and logical way to keep a Daily Log, Journal or Personal Diary.
